Tap onto trailer connector to provide power for rear view camera

    Anyone here have tried tapping onto trailer connector using some kind of adapter to provide power for rear view camera?

    You could tap into one of the reverse lights , or the reverse light wire on the back of your 7 pin connector.

    A camera mounted on the back of a trailer? If so, the standard seems to be to tap into a clearance light and keep your lights on.

    No trailer. I mainly want to use that connector there to provide power for a rear view camera that I will be installing as soon as i can find one that suits my need. I figured it maybe easier to tap onto that adapter there.

    That's why I asked his year model.
    The 7 pin plug has a batt on with acc for a full time view.
    It's usually the black wire..:thumbsup:

    Mine is 2024 SR5. I just want to add a third party camera to view/record in case someone rear end me so i have proof.
