Talked to Toyota today RE engine replacement

Spoke to Toyota customer advocates today about engine replacement update. Basically no timing yet and no official remedy. Reasons given were “it will take time to build all those new engines” and “we have not finished our investigation yet as to how the defects happened and how to prevent them in the future”.

c’mon guys, you are the world’s largest vehicle manufacturer and supposedly dedicated to quality engineering! Surely these world class engineers should have solved this by now!

as an insult, I got another “interim notice” letter yesterday stating no remedy!

 

Trade it. Problem solved.

 

I agree. They need to rush out a new engine as soon as possible that will have even more problems.

 

IOW... "We (Toyota) are still trying to figure out the cheapest way out of this mess."

 

I wonder what the plant that built all those beautiful, rock solid 5.7 V8's is doing....I mean, stuffing that into the new Tundra seems like a quick, easy solution, but thats just me.
