I have a 2021 Tundra that I bought new, I noticed this rust at the bottom of tailgate, has anyone have this? I took to dealer to see if it was covered under warranty, they are checking with Toyota, stated that it probably is not covered, they have not got back with me. Does anyone have contact information for factory rep?

Factory reps are region specific, and you will not get their number. They can however meet you at the dealership. They usually come around 2-3 times a month to each dealer.

Rust is covered for 5/60 like your powertrain and if the dealer service manager is a good guy/gal they should just take care of it.

Weird how yours is just between the 2 weepholes. I just checked mine and no rust on the tailgate at all. I have a 21 that just rolled over 40k miles

I would clean it well and see if it returns, maybe treat with some rust converter spray. If you have used your truck bed to do truck stuff it may be metal shavings or residue that is surface rust that collected there when draining out of the bed. I had some surface rust after drilling out sheet metal and the shavings collected in spots and rusted. Freaked me out but turned out to be on top of the paint / bed liner and just needed a good cleaning. YMMV

Surface rust will probably not be covered... Usually the dealer sets up the appt between you and the rep. Same issue on my 2016 but a little worse
Tried the POR 15 treatment, rust came back within a year. Body shop estimate $500. No guarantee which I'm good with..
