My tailgate has opened itself twice now, overnight, parked in my garage. Of course the first time it happened, well of course it got scratched when I opened the garage door. Now I check it every morning before opening the garage door and yep, tailgate opened again last night.

Possible you had keys in your pocket with something else that pressed the tailgate open button?
I’ve had the alarm button activate several times bending over with the cell phone in the same pocket with the keys.

Likely a "Pocket Dial" as mentioned. The only way I can see to prevent that is to train yourself to turn the FOB off when exiting the vehicle for the day, or put it in something that prevents it from transmitting.

If it is indeed the FOB button getting pushed inadvertently, I'm pretty sure the dealer can reprogram the FOB so that button won't work anymore.

I just leave my FOB in the center console when I park in my garage and close the garage door.

Have the AJT case as well. Like it a lot. Waiting for a deal to do the second key.

This is a customizable feature to disable the fob button. Optionally, you can have the dealer program the fob to require either a long hold on the button or two pushes of the button. The factory default setting is a short press of the button and probably the setting most susceptible to a pocket dial. I turned mine off as the button on the taillight was sufficient.

Time to find a new dealer.... Do they even know that column C is what the dealer can do?

I was in fear of this happening to me while keys are in my pocket jammed with other miscellaneous shit and one damn well knows buttons will get pressed when you don't want them to.

Anyhow, like mentioned above the AJT is a great after market fob, when I got mine I cut the nipple off the tailgate button.
That's the inside or backside of what you actually press to activate.

MESO is another option, their V3 fob is not as wide but chunkier than the AJT.
