Bought a 2019 tundra and just realized that the lock does not work with the key remote? Is there a problem or did they actually make the 2019 that you have to lock it manually with the key?

Its manual unless an electric actuator is added. It can be wired to work with the factory door lock/unlock.

Pop N Lock makes a plug and play kit. Put mine in in 2017. Redunkulous we had to add these, heated seats, bed lights to the TRD PRO.

My 2019 PRO locks the tailgate by the remote. Not sure what trim level you have there.

I did my front seats myself for $150..
    This X2..

Took about 4 hours only because I take my time..

Pull the inside panel off the tailgate and you won't see an actuator.
A power-locking tailgate is not a standard option.

As others have stated you can add your own.
Some use the OEM, and most of us use PopnLock.
I added the old-style PopnLock to my 2014.

This is the upgraded HD version.

I'm sure there are youtubes that help with the installation..

As rare as I ever unlocked my tailgate, it was worth the peace of mind knowing that it was locked when I locked the doors..
Thieves in Dallas steal tailgates as well as cats, and they already stole my cats....
