Tacoma steering wheel in Tundra?

I want to upgrade my steering wheel and curious to know if a steering wheel from a 2017 Tacoma will fit? I know i'll need to know use the old air bag and all the buttons I just want to make sure they'll fit right on the new steering wheel without issues.

 

The 4 Runner wheel is just like the tundra too .

I'm confused. What's the benefit in the Tacoma wheel over the Tundra?

 

I’ve seen the Lexus steering wheel on a tundra but not a Tacoma. I’ll ask my friends at Toyota if the Tacoma steering wheel is compatible.

 

Leather wrap,I'd guess. My 1794 has got faux wood/ leather. I'd like to have all leather, no faux. I think the pro has that option. I don't know about the Taco one as yoneytan asked about. . Excuse me. Lol

 

I just want a leather steering wheel. My factory wheel feels cheap and starting to show excessive wear.

looks great but there is no way I can do that and it comes out right. I bought a taco steering and will install when received. I'll post pics once done. Thanks for the help though!

 

What year Tacoma steering wheel did you purchase and what is the cost? I assume it was a leather one?

 

It will definitely work, The only benefit is the leather. Just make sure to clean the steering wheel really good, It might have blood on it..

 

The reviewers say it took them 7 to 8 hours to install. Ouch!!

 

Embarrassingly, the Pro doesn't have a leather wheel.

 

Its off a 17 TRD. I paid $150 shipped.

 

Do you have a link where I might be able to get one? The plastic one on my Tundra gets too cold in the winter. I never had this problem on 2000 Camry.

 

Sorry I don't. I found it on ebay but took some time to find for that price. Most sellers are asking $250-$400.

 

What about the Toyota sense controls?

I did the swap in my PRO, it took me about 25 minutes

The only benefit is that Tacoma steering wheel is leather wrapped, the TRD PRO one is urethane (hard plastic)

This video is all you need a steering wheel puller is not required I did mine just bouncing the steering wheel side to side. You have to re-torque at 37ft/lb @nk1794 can give some advice for the process

Everything from the old steering wheel is transferred to the new one I had some pictures but deleted everything just saved the 2 in previous message

Here's mine, Tacoma leather wheel direct swap. You only transplant the wheel. The center piece housing the airbag and control assemblies/switches on either side are what you have now, they fit. I Plastidipped the emblem, and I painted the silver pieces on either side black (I also painted the circular vent covers in matte black and the big silver pieces surrounding the head unit in satin black when I installed the Tesla style android HU)

 

I transferred everything from my Old tundra steering wheel because the one I bought was from a 2017 Tacoma and had different buttons

 

Me too, I only swapped the wheel, nothing else. The Taco controls are different. In fact I might have gotten the idea off you on a previous search lol. Found mine on ebay for $120.

 

Just bought one off ebay for $200. Hope it gets here soon. Loved that leathery feel and look from my 17’ Tacoma. Can’t beleive not even PRO’s come with leather steering wheel.
