So I normally run amsoil 0w20 signature series and change the oil every 5000 miles but was wondering what other brand that’s easier accessible to use instead? I heard Valvoline was really good for our trucks.

Is it the availability of Amsoil that makes you want to change?

It is, I have to plan out when to order it so I’ll have it on hand when I’m ready to do my oil change plus the price as well.

My 5.7 seems to like the Pennzoil Ultra Platinum in the 5W-30 flavor, nice and quiet.

    Too many, but not enough....
Costco brand or mobil 1 are both excellent and costco sells both. The Costco brand is exceptionally cheap with the sales they have often.

Yea but the location of the one in my area is a bit of a drive where autozone is right down the road from me.

If you use Amsoil filters they're rated for up to 15k miles. Easily enough filtration left to wait for Amsoil deliveries even if you wait until the Maintenance Required light comes on.

I use Toyota filters since I buy them a few at a time. I mainly want to switch to a brand just for easier access since I’m changing my oil every 5000 miles which I hit that mark within 5 months or so.

I mainly want to see if it’s a smart move to change from amsoil to a more common brand if it’s still full synthetic.

Autozone typically has higher prices. They might price match like Oreillys does. You can show them the price on Walmarts website and save some dough

What’s not accessible about Amsoil? It’s one phone call and it to your house in 3 days usually, I’ve been selling it for years.

I live in Arkansas. Our towns have 2-4 Walmarts in them. Even the little towns. Most have a super center. I don’t know where everyone lives, but I travel a lot, and not everyone has a Walmart.

I use a dealer and it takes over a week to get here in my area. Maybe I’m doing the process wrong but I feel like I can use a common brand and have it done faster and save some money since I change it often.

Amazon had a 3 - 5qt jugs of pennzoil ultra platinum for $71, sign up at valvoline and I got 2 garage boxs (24qts) of 0-20 for about $90. But you have to get the the sale and additional coupon. They ship it for free. Don’t over spend for oil just keep changing it at 5,000 miles is the most important thing to do.

Adding my input. I switched from dealer bulk oil 0w-20 to mobil 1 5w-30. The engine is definitely quieter all around.

I only ever ran 5w30 in my 2019 5.7. Picked it up with 0w20 in it. When I did my first oil change I put 5w30 in it and wow. All the valvetrain chatter went away. Sounded so smooth. I don’t believe in water for oil.
