Hello friends. I’m checking to see how many of you have ran into the “issue” I’ve got, and what you’ve done to mitigate it.

I have Deaver U748 springs with a TRD rear sway bar. No way it would fit back in with the bar mounted under the axle housing, as the bar would be smashed into the underside of the springs. I installed the bar on the back of the housing, which leaves plenty of space until I go full droop. At that point, the springs drop far enough to contact the ends of the bar. It’s really close to full shock extension, with a hair over 10” shaft showing.

Anyone build sway bar links that are an inch or so longer? Will I be the first?

Nothin’? Hoping to see how others have made a TRD sway bar work with springs like mine.

check helwig perhaps, they make sway bars for our trucks and if I recall, they had different length links available.

You can also mount the TRD RSB on the back of the axle, vs under. There are a few pics of that mounting here on Tundras, you should be able to find them searching rear sway bar in upper right. Either mounting, the RSB still functions as it should.

Thanks for the response! Im already mounted the sway bar behind the axle, which is fine for everything but full suspension droop. At that point, the springs just hit the bar. Maybe an inch before they’d hit the tailpipe.

I’ve got access to everything I may need to build longer links, just curious if others have found a different way around this issue before I rebuild…

I just run without. With the upgraded leafs it stiffens up the rear. If you’re running a camper I’d say find a fix to keep the sway bar. But if open empty bed no sway bar works for me and it off roads better. Good luck.
