Put the TRD sway bar on my 2017 Limited crew max Saturday and it is coming off tomorrow! This thing has made the bed bounce on concrete brutal. I had mild bounce on I25 here in Colorado but with this thing I feel like my truck is going to shake apart.
It did tighten up the cornering but not enough to deal with this mess.
    What a waste of money..

Bummer. I haven't had a problem with mine. But then, I live on a windy Mtn. road.

I had bed bounce before the sway bar on stock suspension and did not notice any extra bed bounce after the sway bar installation on stock suspension. I am in Colorado as well. The sway bar is great in the mountains.

Removed mine for the same reason. Stock suspension on my Platinum. Much smoother now, but cornering is not as tight. I decided that the smoother ride was better, so I will be selling mine. I am also installing the TRD Pro suspension next week (thanks to Black Friday sale).

UPDATE: I should also state that most of my highway driving is on concrete roads which are rough and 80 MPH speed limits. Because of this, I notice the bounce / bumps a lot. I do not travel on winding mountain roads, but flat Texas concrete highways.

A rear sway bar ties the both sides of the rear. Good for handling and reducing body rolls, but if one side feels a bump, both sides will feel it. If your neighborhood road is rough, I would not recommend it. This is the reason why I am not getting one. I live in a winter wonderland and the roads do not have pot holes. They have craters.

Believe me, I’m bummed. It adds a dramatic difference in the handling but I can’t believe how magnified the bed bounce is. It’s not a slight increase it’s a major increase. It’s only on concrete highway at highway speeds.
Yes, I have the stock Limited TRD suspension. I believe it’s the 4600 series Bilstein shocks toyota puts on these things.
I’m happy so many enjoy the MOD. That’s what got me to purchase. I can see why so many are happy due to how improved the handling is but I can’t handle the bounce.
Is there a TSB or anything I should be aware of?

I love it on smooth paved roads but ever since the fast offroad life hit me I took mine off for better articulation, might put it back on when I tow

It’s odd to experience that extreme level of bed bounce. Would be an easy sale if you choose to get rid of it

I’ll try to shoot a video somehow tomorrow morning before I take it off.
I would think this much bed vibration would be hard on other parts of the truck.

I also have a Limited with the TRD suspension and it came from the factory with the rear sway bar. Obviously I don't know how it would ride without one but I do like the way the truck handles and yes, the suspension feels a little stiffer then it did on my F-150 although not to the point where it would be rough (definitely doesn't feel like a 3/4 ton truck).

When I did my pre-purchase research I did read about the Tundra bed bounce but have yet to experience it. I always look in the driver side mirror and observe the bed when I know that I hit a speed bump or those rumble strips and never noticed any unusual movement.

Well I wonder why in the hell im getting such bad bounce? I want to keep this thing on but not with how bad the bounce is. I did notice on other forums people complained about the stretch of Highway I’m talking about calling it “the worst stretch they have ever been on”.
It’s installed properly. I don’t see how you could screw up the install.

    71_340,
I’m pretty confident they do not come from the factory with the rear sway bar.
I’m not doubting you but from everything I can find it’s definitely an after purchase part.

I’ve read about the bed bounce on tundra but honestly I haven’t experienced it. I have rode In the big 3 trucks and by far the Ram has the worst ride of all of them

I guess technically you are correct, it says Port...whatever that means. It was on there when it arrived at the dealer. The spec sheet from the Toyota site are attached so you can see for yourself.

As far as your sway bar is installed, it looks identical to my truck.

Not sure i would really call it bed bounce, since its really the entire truck that bounces. The bounce comes from the way certain highways are made. Each section of concrete pad they put down has an imperfect seem and it rattles its way up through the leaf springs into our trucks. Asphalt highways or places without much seismic activity will be smooth as butter, but sectioned concrete highways are jarring, especially without a load in the bed. I heard softer deaver springs and poly bushings help with the bounce. There was a time i left about 300 lbs of gravel in my bed just to dampen it, but i've gotten used to it now. I really only notice/care about it when i have passengers with me and they complain about it.

I took off my front sway bar and going over speed bumps diagonally at any speed isn't jarring at all anymore. Might take off the rears and see how it feels!

Yea, wonder what the hell “port” is?
In either case I’m glad it’s working for you. I wish it was for me. I don’t see anyway to avoid the highway that causes it.

port installed means when it comes off the shipping barge, they install it prior to the dealer receiving the truck. whatever region you're in they usually do their "special" packages there: TSS, etc. etc.

What would be the point of that? Tundras are built here anyway so what port?

hmm i did forget that.. well my answer is correct for overseas made cars..
i would assume its whatever options your region wants to slap on prior to it getting to your dealership and is willing to cover under TOYOTA's corporate warranty. dealer installed stuff would be whatever your dealership wants to add, that only they might cover? Maybe?

In either case, with no solution that I’m aware of I guess it’s coming off and that does bum me out.
I’ll sell it to a member here for a good price but probably should be local as the shipping cost could get out of hand.
