I want to swap out my CD-less head unit to a 2019 or older stock head unit. I have CDs I want to play and not into the phone thing. Anyone know if this is just a straight swap and reconnect or will I have to slice and dice?

Negative...the wiring and connectors on the 20 and 21's are different than the 2019 and older. Some of the guys with 2018 and 2019's wanted the radios out of our 2020s for Apple carplay and AA until they found out that the connectors are different. I'll see if I can find the post showing the 2.

@Safar85, the other option if you want to keep your radio and not go aftermarket is to copy your CD's to a USB thumb drive.

Yeah, tried that and the damn head unit didnt recognize most of the formats I guess....I will probably have to spend more time and make it work some how or at least, download correct file types.

Doesnt look terribly different. I'm going to bug a Toyota tech about it at first oil change and maybe some aftermarket audio guys if I find one

Some radios will read external drives depending on how its formatted.

I beleive the pin-outs and wiring are all different. It would be one hell of a project and headache to try and chase it all down.
