Has anyone ever swapped the longer overhead console from a 2007-2013 DC or CM into a 2014-2017? I'm considering doing this for my truck.

The mounting holes should line up the same and I'm guessing the only thing I'd have to do is cut up the headliner a bit to run the length of behind the longer console (to allow for the compartments to fit upward). From my research, it looks like the longer console is held on with about 6 clips, I'd assume 4 of them are the same the short console uses and the other 2 are near the center dome light.

I looked at pictures online comparing the exterior and interior of both versions of the console and they look identical at the front mounting section and have the same rough dimensions. 100% chance Toyota didn't change the architecture of the roof's interior sheet metal so all the holes should line right up. I don't have a sunroof so this obviously works in my favor.

If I find a good deal on one off eBay, I may consider trying to attempt this myself.

I always wondered why they deleted the nice xtra storage up there. I would definitely want to do this if its fairly simple.

If you do it, make a DIY. I want my overhead back.
