    All stock...for now
Hi all, I want to level my front suspension on my 2002. Is it 1" or 2"? Are spacers ok? Truck just sees commuter duty, and is all stock. -Thx!20160921_112738.jpg

I came close to leveling my '02 by swapping out the original coil springs with TRD 4x4 coils.IMG_1210.jpg IMG_6507.jpg

That seems like a decent option. I've heard some spacers are bad, some are good. Bilstein 5100's will get you going good. Other than that a coilover setup like OME or toytec is the expensive option.

I had heard there was a difference in these coils amongst the various options. This confirms why the TRD 4x4 sits differently.

Im not sure how some people are getting 2.5" of front lift with the Bilstein 5100s though. On a 4x4 Acess Cab, Bilstein only lets up to the 2nd or 3rd notch (about 1" only) and put a warning to not use the upper 4 or 5th notches on them. Are they safe to run at that height on the 4x4 models if Bilstein says not to?

You are correct sir. Personally, I would not do the highest setting per the Billy warning. Seems some people do it anyway, but we rarely hear the aftermath problems.

@Casper421 I guess it might still be better than a spacer!
Thats why I am choosing the pro-lift shocks similar to the billies made by Eibach. It will level my ride within the parameters of reccomendation by Eibach themselves

I think Bilstein has those recommendations to minimize the preload so the ride isn’t horrible and provides more travel. Plenty of trucks are set on the top perch without issues. I can’t imagine the ride being enjoyable at that preload. Bilstein is probably just saving their asses from complaints or potential failure of older bushings or ball joints.

They should market the 5100 as a street performance shock. They really tightened everything up and I love the responsiveness on road/towing/hauling, but the little bit of off road sand rumbles I tested them on had me checking my molars. These set at one notch up from stock. Couldn’t imagine the setting at all the way up max while off roading.

@Professional Hand Model that makes me nervous for the Eibach adjustables I am getting. Hopefully they ride okay, I hardly "off-road." My offroading is pot hole filled dirt roads, hunting paths, driving through snow, and field mudding. Otherwise, its my daily. I just keep the thought that they will be better than strut spacers and coil spacers.
