    Hi!

It’s been 2 weeks since I received my 2021 Tundra Trd Pro. Love the truck and the simple “old school” tech or lack of but unhappy with the power. Anyone with a supercharger that can give some feedback on maintenance issues etc? Looking at Harrop kit. I’m located in Souther California if anyone is close by with a similar setup. Love the looks of the truck just not satisfied with the power unless foot is on the floor.

I'd reach out to Superchargers Online, they should be able to hook you up and have been knowledgeable in the supercharged Tundras scene for quite a while. They're up in Simi Valley.

I don't have a Harrop kit on mine, but you should be able to expect overall power increases over pretty much the entire RPM range. The other day, I realized I have zero desire to use Tow/Haul mode on my truck anymore after installing the supercharger.

Thanks for the info and reply. Which kit did you end up going with?

I have the Magnuson kit on my 2019. Unfortunately, no one has cracked tuning properly for the 2020/2021 trucks, so your only option is Harrop as of now.

I've read about tons of folks who have had stage 1 Harrops installed, and have been very happy with their kits. There are more threads about this here: https://www.tundras.com/forums/performance-and-tuning.48/

Also interested in this as I feel the same - love the thing, but it is sluggish at times and about 75-100 WHP away from being perfect for me. How durable is the bottom end for boost?

From what I've read issues start to crop up with the bottom end over 600hp, though that was from people drag racing them. For normal everyday use and playing on the street it might be fine for longer, but that seemed to be the threshold of things start happening.

Hate to break it to you, but there is NO tuning available for 20-21 trucks. Harrop states you run the supercharger on the stock tune but I wouldn't trust that.

I have the Harrop (Stage 1) on a low mileage 2020 with the stock tune. At this time I don't have any issues to report but again I have less than 2.5K miles on the blower and less than 5K total miles on the truck so I can't really speak to reliability at this point. I'm driving more miles this year so we'll see if there are any long term reliability issues to be concerned with while I wait for a 2020 tune. The big tradeoff of running the blower without a tune is you're not getting the full performance potential out of the Harrop kit.

Harrop has a proprietary “Commercial in Confidence” "toyota_3ur-fe_v8_tech_guide.docx" they will send you if you ask for it. This document explains, in technical detail, why the Harrop works without a tune.

As far as maintenance, coolant and oil are the two maintenance items to care for on the blower itself. The Maggie's oil looks like its easier to service than the Harrop, where the Harrop needs to be removed to have the oil serviced at 100K miles. Besides the blower's maintenance I was instructed to change the Tundra's engine oil at more frequent intervals than the prescribed 10K miles; recommendation was to inspect and change the oil at 5K or lower intervals as necessary.

Do you monitor your afrs and other sensors?

I don't have a gauge at the moment but I saw some of the discussion on another thread recommending to monitor AFRs. Mainly monitoring temps at the moment via Scanguage 2.

I'm still shopping a gauge to monitor AFRs if you have any recommendations.

Was just curious how they do without having a tune. I like my Innov8 gauge and it lets you monitor both boost and afr and has dimming and other nice features, but is quite a bit more than a standard analog gauge. You can also monitor them within reason through TorquePro and your phone.

    Is it this one?:
    https://www.innovatemotorsports.com/products/psb1.php

Let me ask Harrop if I can post the doc with their permission. I posted it briefly before until I saw the markings; took it down to avoid any legal issues.

I also have a Harrop on my 2021 with no issues, got back a couple of weeks ago after pulling a 8600 travel trail through the mountains on a 800 mile trip.

The install was pretty straight forward, the hardest part was disconnecting the wire loom brackets on the back of the manifold and lifting the fuel tank back up by myself.

Not entirely true... Prospeed is tuning using a MOTEC ECU.

UPS was supposed to send that kit back to us but it didn't show up today and that's when I noticed your post. We strap them with white nylon strapping, those steel bands are not from us, I would check all the kit contents asap and let me know if your missing anything.

Haha! @Chris@Harrop may be willing to post the tech guide (love letter) if permitted. I think a lot of new Tundra owners are interested in buying the Harrop but they aren't sure why it works on the stock tune.

I think my blower was delayed at the port for a week waiting to get through customs. I'm glad your delivery was sorted. Can't wait to see what you think post install!

Its a common question that comes up. I suspect some folks aren't getting blowers on their 2020s+ thinking tunes are required.
