So I just bought a 2002 Supercharged 4.7L Tundra and I just had some general questions that the Toyota Dealerships cant answer.

1.) What kind of Supercharger oil goes the truck use and where do I change it?

2.) Anyone know of a vendor that sells replacement parts?

    ~ Thanks for any help

Also Gonna be making this like a story of my truck. So any improvements/upgrades or problems that I have I will post in this thread so that maybe one day another person may have a supercharger with lots of questions that can be answered here :)

@imDementeD has a supercharger. Other may have one, but he's the only one I know of that has one. @empty_lord may know also.

I believe the maintenance interval on the TRD V8 supercharger for the 00-03 years is 100k, but still good to know what oil it takes ahead of time.

Ive seen in the Topleft of the engine bay via the image below that some truck came with a brake booster booster? Idk it connects to the break booster was just wondering what it was.

Also has anyone ever tried to retro fit the 4.7L cover over the ugly mess that is by the throttle ?

Nice! With Ivan Steward Wheels no less, great find!

Forgot to ask if its 9th or 9th and 10th injector w the computer? I'm guessing 9th with a TRD Piggyback.

Not sure I know what you are mentioning on the brake booster booster.....top left in your image is the windshield wiper motor.

Also, getting those rear fender "protectors' off is a royal pita, DO NOT use a heat gun like I did, my detailer told me to use steam (haven't tried the other side yet).

Let me know what other parts you are looking for, installed mine last year and still have all PNs and places to find...

That link I attached they rebuild the Magnusen units if you need. You should be in good shape though, how does the serpentine belt look? Easy to throw a new one on for peace of mind and start baselining all of your fluids...

Not sure on how to check the injectors, So I have no idea :)

I ironically own 2 Tundras now and this one has what I was talking about
    [IMG]

Aha yes I have read about the belt and I dont think its ever been changed but since the truck has sat for afew years I should give it a go just for safekeeping.

It’s an Eaton m90. GM supercharger oil works I believe.

That’s the ABS pump. Your new truck doesn’t have ABS

Abs was optional. All my tacomas don’t have it. But my buddies base model same year does.

I have happened upon another question/debate:

Is it necessary to run premium gas in order to prevent knock or some other kind of ignition problems or is it just for maximum power? Cause if I can run regular gas and not have to worry about engine/supercharger problems that would be great :)

It's for knock/detonation reasons. You're stuck with the pricey fuel.

Do the trd supercharged trucks have a boost referenced fuel pressure regulator or a 9th injector?

Gates K061058RPM is the belt you need (the one I run anyways). Get it on rock auto.

    TIL-superchargers require oil changes. Interesting.

OP-that brake fluid looks like motor oil. Might be time to flush. Very nice truck though. Always cool to see a supercharged 1st gen still around. How does the frame look?

Good find on the belt! Was lookin into how hard it was to change the belt and figured the supercharged engine would require a special belt!

The truck had an interior oil spray so that's why the brake fluid looks dark af :) Haven't got around to clean the bay out yet abit hesitant to just power wash an engine

Also just look up what TIL Supercharger was and boi, not even electricity can escape the goddess that is oil!

The truck has been garage kept for about a dozen years before I bought it so basically mint! There's one spot on the drivers side where the leaf spring attaches to the frame that is starting to split/peel :3. Wonder if you can just weld the seem together ?.?

Sorry, TIL stands for Today I Learned.

That's actually very common. It's actually a brace to support the frame and many have delaminated in that spot. I think one member cut out the old brace and replaced it. @N84434 fixed his in this thread.

Above and beyond indeed... Lots of hand mojo over the last year and a half...

I figure if I fix everything eventually it'll be a new truck again!

I was under the truck last weekend checking things out and those braces/stiffeners I fabricated for the rear frame sections are holding up well.

Guys on the FB supercharger page are going with these guys lately:
    https://jokerzperformance.com/product/jokerz-trd-m90-service/

they do a full service with porting as well.

My install got pushed back to the beginning of next month.
    I'll do a write-up when it's all buttoned up.

    Congrats on the truck!

Holycow @evilrb and to think I thought there was going to be no information on these superchargers :)

At least as far as the Toyota Dealerships are concerned

    ~ Thanks Peps!

The exhaust cutouts for my truck came in 45days early! Looking forward to hearing this baby roar on command :) Will post a vid whenever I have the time to get them installed
