So I stopped at the store yesterday. I pulled in like I have a million times before.
I went to put the truck in park and went in the store. I did not shut the truck off.
I came back out of the store, hopped in the truck and went to put the truck in reverse. I looked down and where you see the letter of the gear you are in highlighted, I was in neutral. I can move the shifter on the column but, the gear does not change. I got a tow home and the truck now sits in the driveway. The VSC light is flashing, check engine is on but not flashing. The truck will crank and operate as normal (air conditioner etc) but the gear will not change out of N. I tried the shift override button behind the steering wheel, no luck. I should mention I just had my boat hooked up to the truck and the trailer was plugged in. I have since checked every fuse in the box that I can. Ideas?

Neutral Safety Switch?? Maybe a short between the transmission and gear selector. Or possibly a rodent clipped your wiring mid meal and this last stop did the wiring in?? I dont't think anyone has had simikar issues unless rodents were involved some way.

That’s also what I’ve read. This could seriously be plausible because it’s not our daily driver. I only really drive it when we are pulling something or just a quick trip to the store. Thanks so much for your reply!
