Hello peeps! Got another one for y’all.
So, the threads for my carrier bearing mount are stripped on one side.
Wonder if ok to replace bolt and add a nut with lock washer?
    Seems like standard bolt.
Personally, I would have recommended a bolt with lock washer anyway to the bouncing around driveshafts do especially when off road.
    Thoughts. Thank you.

Calibrated Power 5 Tune pack, Allison 1000 tune, PPE deep trans pan, Cold/Hot CAC pipes, Banks CAI, PCV reroute, resonator delete, S&B 62 gal fuel tank, B&W GN hitch
    That should work just fine.

I broke both of the welded nuts off when I put in a CB drop; been running some super high speed Grade 8s, or metric equivalent for a fe wyears without issue. You'll be fine. I used a nylock nut too.

    IMG_6566.jpg Right on!
Would you happen to have some part numbers for the bolts and nuts you used?
    Much appreciated if so.

I wish I could help more here, but I've got a pretty comprehensive nut and bolt collection that is sized by Metric and SAE, then size and pitch. I just went to the thread checker, matched the size as far as the diameter was concerned, and pulled a couple of bolts and corresponding nuts, and went from there.

Any issues with the alignment of the nuts/bolts/bearing since the factory nuts are welded in to be centered? I recently bought a truck that had a hacked carrier bearing replacement and it has the factory nuts missing.

I've not had any issues. The mounting tab ears on the carrier bearing assembly itself has enough play in it to adjust as needed, so I dont see the movement of the nuts on as that significant of a compounding isssue.

Thanks, I was worried about alignment. I picked up some M10x1.25 nuts and bolts from Home Depot and I plan on using loctite once I have everything in place. Did you need to clean the left over weld off the tabs? Sorry for all the questions, I really thought there would be more on this subject. I just got a new OEM driveshaft and I'd rather not do this more than once. Did you have any factory shims/washers in the carrier? The dealer is saying there's 6 different sizes available but many people are saying they didn't have any shims.

I've got a homebrew carrier bearing drop; that install is what required removing the bolts and the subsequent shearing off of the capture nuts. No factory shims were present, so no issue there either.
