Any ideas what could be causing this sound…usually occurs on a cold morning when I start it up to warm up the truck…..only lasts a few seconds depending on how cold it is….& sound is heard mainly under passenger front wheel well. Truck has 200k on it and rides great otherwise….trying to get it to the million mile mark!! Lol

Sounds like the millennium falcon after a sky battle w a few dark side Star fighters!!

I tried loading a short video (about 3 seconds long…after longer videos would not load and I got a pop up it couldn’t do it). Sound goes something like an air compression system loading up.

Also….anyone know how to load a video…I think it said there is a 20 Mb limit?? 3 second video shud not be more than that.

If it's a squealing or whining, possibly the secondary air injection bypass? You can find samples of that sound online.

Upload to YouTube maybe, and link the video here.

    10-4 shifty!

    it’s a whining sound.

I looked up secondary air pump fixes n it seems like that sound is a constant sound whereas mine only last a few seconds

I know I had a leaky power steering issue that somehow doesn’t leak anymore but it could be associated with that system

I will try n upload video via Youtube!

    Thanks!

Usually if it's a short whine when cold, if it's super-brief, tensioner is the next culprit in line people are looking for. Maybe one of the pulleys related to serpentine?

Could also be something related to manifold, either a leak, broken stud, or similar, so I'd check the passenger exhaust carefully.

No air injection on 00-04 trucks.

    Tensioner/belt would be my guess.
