Looks like a real piece of crap. I'm a nice guy, so I will help you out and trade you a brand new , still in the box Alpine ILX-F511 for it?

Billy, I apologize if I was unclear in the thread. I am not looking to trade anyone for it. I am looking to see if anyone has used this unit before and what they think of it.

I appreciate your offer but I am not interested in the Alpine.

I don't have personal experience with it, but I thought about the Stinger Heigh10 for both my Tacoma and my Tundra. These radios seem to have fairly positive reviews (see video), but I believe the Stingers don't allow you to change truck settings once installed and you lose the music display on the gauge cluster. Maybe the Stinger Horizon 10 is different though, so I'd be interested in hearing about your experiences with it once you install it.

Edit: It looks like some of the folks on Tacomaworld have had luck with this system which is a good sign.

Its a really nice unit. If your swapping out a non JBL HU you will be happy. The loss of factory integration with the JBL HU was a deal breaker for me so I swapped it for a Kenwood unit that supported the Maestro. Other than the loss of integration, I would say I liked it better than the Kenwood. I liked the non mechanical buttons and the haptic feedback. They make a cool dash kit too that makes it look more intentional.

That look sweet. Mine is coming in today so I’ll post pictures after I get home and do the swap!

Thanks! I’ll watch this here in a bit. It’s been hard to find stuff outside Stingers own videos.

Can confirm that the gauge cluster integration will be lost. Also any vehicle settings managed via the HU (E.G. Door lock behavior) will also be lost.

Got er' in! This thing is friggin sweet. Couple of steps missing from the install manual. I figured it out.

Big thing is my truck thinks I'm always driving. So I cannot access settings. Gotta call tech to figure it out.
