With the less than stellar rollout of the new Tundra, have you changed your mind about buying? I think most of you are either-
A- still buying a new Tundra and not worried about any early issues
B-still buying but a little concerned about the issues
    C-On the fence/undecided
D-Definitely not buying because of the issues
E -Was never planning on buying (would have made a poll but no clue how to do that lol)

I personally still plan on buying. Not concerned about any early issues and am confident Toyota will work thru these issues and make a very reliable truck. However, my plan was always to wait until the market gets back to normal. I absolutely refuse to pay even msrp. Have never done that and never will. Hopefully I can get at least a few K off in a year or two. Sold my 2020 Limited in May this year (7K over what I paid) in hopes of getting a 2022 but hindsight tells me I should have waited another year. Did not expect to have to wait this long and see these rediculous dealer markups

I have a non-refundable deposit so can't back out now, but the dealer told me my build is a unicorn (double cab, limited, off road, no moon roof, premium lights, heated steering wheel) and I'm looking at minimum 6-8 months or longer, maybe that's a blessing in disguise

I’m having a moment of pause for sure but I wasn’t sold on buying one yet anyways

want to test drive a platinum once it’s on the lot , also want to test drive the 2022 AT4 6.2

No way would I ever buy a truck with out a test drive and it will be a while to be able to do that plus I need to see if it will fit in my garage , not looking good but going to try to stuff it in there on the test drive

All these problems and small odd things are not making me want to hurry up at all

some of the shoddy building I’ve seen here or there surprises me for Toyota , first year or not you usually don’t see that

I have a deposit down but I am concerned
Toyota and Dealerships are not making me feel all warm and fuzzy inside

I kind of feel sorry for people who need to by ASAP due to a wreck or old car issues.

I will not buy the first year of any vehicle and I will not pay what dealerships are demanding. In ten years, when I go to look for another truck, I'll consider Toyota.

The specs are what turned me off, the first year issues haven't changed anything. It's just not a big enough step up from my current 2016 to justify getting back into payments. Since Toyota hybrid isn't getting that huge MPG boost it shows the limitation of pushing a big heavy square block around with an ICE - note I'd never buy a 1/2 ton diesel because of emission crap. So I'm gonna be waiting for all electric trucks to work out the kinks - Chevy WT is what I'm watching right now, so at least 2 years out from truly thinking of swapping the 2016 out

My truck is sked'd to be built 2/14, I have a non-refundable deposit of $500.
I may simply tell the dealer to hold my deposit a bit longer on another incoming truck--my '22 is just a basic 4WD SR DC 6.5 that would sell off of the lot pretty quick anyway at that pricepoint.
I think the dealer would accommodate me given what's gone on; they've been damn decent so far for an auto group. *shocked*....

If the wastegate issue and everything else appears good to go, I may just jump in and go. I'm paying MSRP, I'd pogo stick my way around before paying what some are above MSRP.

My current truck should be good for another 15 years or so, I hope. By then, who knows what my needs will be or what will be on the market?

I have a $500 refundable deposit on a 22' Lunar Rock Limited OR due any day now. Worked trade in value of my 6 month old 21' TRD Pro which was very favorable (i.e. a little more than I paid) Initially decided I wanted to try a new gen Tundra since I have had four 2nd gen Tundras but after a month of waiting and reading about real world reviews vs magazine/YouTube reviews I am definitely changing my tune. I really love my 21' Pro and being the last of the V8's it will probably hold its value quite well for at least another year. Thinking about either swapping my deposit on a 22' TRD Pro and thinking by then they will have QA under control, or just keeping my 21' Pro and doing a few mods.

I'll probably test drive the 22' when it comes in and try and make a very objective decision and minimize my perceptions of it having QA/QC issues. Unfortunately on new gen cars/trucks all I have to go on is "perceived" reliability based on manufacturer and model history and my perceived reliability of the new tundra has taken quite a turn for the worse in the last few months. Its all subjective really and is personal so not much to argue about (although that is what car forums are best for!) as I am sure the actual % failures of new trucks is still very low.

There are arguably better driving trucks, so a big part of what makes Tundra my choice for trucks is that I perceive that every time I drive it that it won't break down and that I can get 150k+ miles of no issues and trade it in for good resale value. If I didn't value reliability I'd probably be driving a Raptor.

I'm personally sticking to my 21. I test drove 2 of the 4 22s that have rolled through my dealership and I'm not impressed. I'm 6'3 and 240lb and i felt cramped in the cabin, but that's just me.

    Long live the dinosaur 5.7!!

I still plan on buying mine when it arrives, but it’s going to be a butt-puckering 7 hours back if the wastegate issue isn’t fixed by then.

This is a concern for me as well at just over 6 feet but wider :). My 2008 with a sunroof was terrible for headroom. I had to lean back the chair and even looked in to cutting down the brackets for the seat in the rear like several people did. I haven't had a chance to sit in a 22 yet and probably won't until my 22 SR arrives. I am assuming with out the sunroof it should be better on headroom however the seat width is a concern.

    I'm an "A" - I'm in. But I also share the concerns of @RavingOx.
My build date is 2/2 so there's still time (I hope...lol).

I am a "C". I really wanted the 6.5' bed with CM but hard to leave the known reliability of the 5.7. The 6.5' bed with the Super Crew cab was my only regret leaving Ford. I have no concerns with the 5.7 CAM tower leak since my Sequoia has had it for a long time with no change in oil level between changes. I will monitor the situation with the turbos and re-evaluate in a year or two.

the turbo issues dont bother me, to much of not much imo. That being said i have a REFUNDABLE deposit on a limited crewmax trd offroad ,jbl. trading my 2021 lunar rock pro.

been debating keeping it and waiting a couple years but man that interior got me like..:spending:

C - I was close to buying and doing more research before putting down my deposit. Then I started finding the rare turbo issue, and bugs in the infotainment system and decided now is not the time. I'm checking out gen 2.5 Tundras, and they cost as much new as used. So all in all right now just isnt a good time to switch vehicles.

Unfortunately I am now in camp C leaning towards D, I started in camp A.

Toyota hasn’t covered themselves in glory with their handling of the turbocharger waste gate actuator issues.

Hopefully I don’t have to move to camp D. I will sit out this model year if possible and reassess later this year.

I'm waiting for the Gen 4's so I can fly to my destination. I only have 30k on my 2020 so I think I can wait. That is, unless my wife steals it from me.

Bought my 21 intentionally because I knew the v8 was getting dropped and I love me a big fat Dinosaur. If this truck had a manual tranny I would want to be buried in it.

yup. my platinum arrives in the next 2-4 weeks! if it has issues it's warrantied and i'll take it in. toyota will make it right. i have my gen2 tundra and other cars, and work from home so...

i know the game with first year models. if it goes south and needs repair you won't see me in here crying about it.

Headroom you will be good but the seat in the 22 is noticeably narrower and the sides are flatter then the previous gen as well as just the width in the driver area is narrower (at least for me)
