I want to swap my urethane SR wheel for a standard leather wrapped one… looks like lots of good lightly used wheels on eBay. Does anybody know if the plastic trim pieces on the wheels can be removed and swapped between wheels as well? For reference, I circled the parts I’m talking about below. I would like to maintain the all black look of the SR wheel since there is no other silver trim anywhere in the vehicle. Not interested in the Pro wheel before anybody starts throwing that out there lol. Thanks!

Yes, you can pop those out and swap them, at least this is true for the SR5 wheel. My SR5 trim was a slightly duller silver than the limited wheel I swapped for. I was able to swap it over to keep the same look as the other silver interior pieces

Yes you can, I did it. I bought this aftermarket wheel from Revesol. The Quality is pretty good for $300. There are a few options. The only issue you may have is the plastic pieces cannot be ordered from Toyota and no one makes them. Just be extremely careful and slow moving them over.

I broke the ones on the Revesol wheel taking them off. They were much thinner and more fragile than the OEM matt Toyota ones. I was able to find used silver ones on ebay as a last resort if I broke the matt ones. Good luck!

I did the same to my revesol wheel and broke the tabs taking their gloss black trim pieces out, but the gloss black trim was trash to me anyway. I have real carbon fiber trim pieces that I want to swap over but afraid those will also break since they likely have 3D printed tabs bonded to it.

yeah, I agree gloss black is garbage. I’m not sure why manufacturers keep using it everywhere. It smudges and scratches when you look at it too long…

I covered up around the shifter with a matt black piece. The piano black on the wheel had to go.

where did you get the carbon fiber pieces?

Gave it a go and removed the carbon trim pieces without breaking any tabs. Looks like it just has a layer of carbon over the factory bezels, so no need to worry about weak tabs. Only used the control bezel for now and put the other pieces on my TRD wheel that I put away. Good to have options. lol
