    6”RC lift on 35’s
I’m sure this has been posted or addressed, but here goes anyway. I’ve got a 3rd gen Platinum with a 6” RC lift on 35’s and have a terrible shimmy about 45 mph and up. I’ve had the tires balanced, road force balanced and even changed tires to rule out the wear patterns. Unfortunately the shimmy still exists. Any suggestions on how to eliminate this?

I am assuming that you meant "3rd Gen". Regardless, is your rig a 4 wheel drive? I ask as the 6" Rough Country kit causes a really steep angle on your CV's. How long have you had the lift on your rig?

Sorry, fat finger, yes 3rd gen. I’ve had the lift for about 6 months and yes it is 4 wheel drive.

    Aftermarket wheels?

Did it just start out of nowhere or did you change anything?

After market wheels and tires. KMC Boss hog 2’s wrapped in 35x12.5x20 Gladiator Xcomp tires. Just the lift has been added and tried different tires too, still shakes

It is most likely the tires- balancing. Did a quick search on Gladiator tire issues and shake and shimmy and inability to correctly balance came right up as issues.

I had that issue and it ended up being the aftermarket wheels.
6 balances, including 4 road force, at 2 different shops and none of them could get rid of the steering wheel shimmy.
I got lucky and the manufacturer let me return them.

Put the stock TSS wheels back on and shimmy was gone.

Frichco228, I would agree with you. However, I’ve also had Toyo Open countries on there as well and still had the same issue.

1lowlife, that would be an option if I didn’t have the lift.

I may try and swap the rims and tires together and see what happens, just don’t wanna drop the money on new rims and tires.
