Idk what it is about this damn steering wheel but it makes my hands sweaty. Could be condensation from air conditioning vents blowing on it but either way it’s super annoying getting out of my truck and going into a business meeting with wet hands. I have seen the covers that stitch on and I’m def not going through all that trouble so what else is out there that fits halfway decent?

I walked Into Toyota dealer one day to get a oil filter and saw these steering wheel covers on the rack, they were black leather with bright red stitching, can't remember name of brand, got me one they also had some with white stitching $20

My Wheelskin was a stitching type, but installation was not difficult at all. It has been flawless for the last 5 years.

Is yours an sr5? I had the same problem. Replaced my sr5 with a tacoma one for $100 on ebay vs the leather limted or platinum one from the dealer for about 500. No more sweaty palms.

That’s a Tacoma outer steering wheel on your Tundra? Easy to install?

Yes it is. I just searched around till i found a decend one for a reasonable price. Yeah the install was easy. I followed a write up on another forum. He shooked the wheel to get it off. I rented a steering wheel puller.

I will say i loved my Tacoma’s steering wheel compared to my tundra’s! This would be so awesome to do I’m highly considering it.

You should do it. I think it was the first thing i did. Couldnt stand the sr5 steering wheel. Dont see why the tacoma trd package has a nice wheel compared to the tundra trd. Even the pro has the garbage steering wheel.

Ordered a wheelskin leather cover and figured I would just pay an upholstery shop an hour labor to sew it on for me....wrong.

Called every single upholstery shop in town and none of them will touch it...wtf? The only one that said they would do it can’t until Monday.

Yours turned out better than mine lol. The weird bulges on 3rd gen wheel make it a little difficult but I knocked it out last night. Should have done a straight stitch like yours instead of diagonal but w.e it does the job and doesn’t look too bad. May redo the stitching in the future if my OCD gets worse.

I probably should have gone with that setup. The gray will more than likely get dirty from time to time.

I just did my wrap and I love it. Took me 8 hours to do but for a first time I guess that's not so bad.

I got this one. Took a few hours but came out ok. Feels a little slippery but the stitching helps with the grip 5AAA202E-B07E-4976-A618-0391D57DC52B.jpg

Yeah. The SDHQ steering wheel is way over priced. I will for sure go this route. Thank You!

@JFAZ did you have to remove the entire steering wheel and attachments to do your wrap?
