    Hi all,

I know the steering vibration due to flat spot with tires is discussed at length in this forum. So I am not posting this note asking the reason for the vibration. I just purchased my 2019 Tundra Platinum Crew-max, a month ago. Once I started noticing the vibration, contacted the dealership where I bought the truck and my local dealership where I took it to file a case with Toyota for tire replacement since the vehicle has only 800 miles. The dealerships are in the process of filing the case. The truck was delivered to the original dealership by Toyota during April, 2019 and it sat on the lot till December 2019. So I am afraid Toyota may come back and deny the claim and case! May I ask whether anyone have gone through these process before and what was Toyota's response. Any useful tip or suggestion from any of my friends here? I truly appreciate how should I go if the case is denied. My strategy in mind is to go back to the dealership where I bought the vehicle to see whether they agree replacement at dealership cost! Any other suggestions?

Hate to say this, but honestly, but you could be chasing a demon. might be better off ponying up for 18” wheels and new rubber.
My story: I have a 16 platinum and experience the same issue as you. Only a slight vibration in the steering wheel at highway speed. Bring it to the dealer and they turn the rotors according to the TSB; vibration still there. Brought it to a reputable truck shop and they tell me I have a bent wheel. Buy another set of platinum wheels along with new tires. Bring those back to the truck shop last week and have them mount the new tires on the new to me wheels along with an alignment and throw new rotors/pads on while they’re in there; vibration is still there (very hard to tell with the new tires). Bring it to Toyota yesterday and ask them to figure it out and maybe check the U-joints for play and driveshaft balance. Toyota says those look good but front upper ball joints are leaking grease and front tires were out of balance (if that’s the case someone screwed up and didn’t do a hub centric balance). I’ll report back today when I get the vehicle back if it’s fixed.

I have seen this issue before on the forum and thought I could figure it out while using the stock wheels. I’m starting to think it’s a resonance thing with that wheel size and the suspension geometry (kinda like the ram death wobble). There are other members on here (hopefully they will speak up) who have gone from the stock 20s down to 18s and their issues seems to have disappeared. Perhaps it’s the extra sideway? If Toyota can’t figure it out I may be at the point of doing that too. Just need to figure out what to do with my old wheels and tires

and please forgive all the typos
