Last week I brought my 2023 SR5 CrewMax in for an oil change and multipoint inspection at the dealership where I bought the truck. Current milage is approximately 5K. Almost immediately after this service I started hearing and feeling a binding/crunching/popping sound when turning. I mostly notice it at low speed like in a parking lot. To verify where it was coming from I had my wife turn the wheel back and forth while in park. The noise is coming from behind the front skid plate which is where the steering rack is located.

I'm bringing it back to the dealer tomorrow to take a look but I'm curious if anyone else has had issues with the steering rack? I know this generation uses an electric rack which I have no experience with. I would hope that in doing an oil change they didn't mess with my steering, but who the heck knows!

    Thank you

You're right, I should just diagnose it myself as I'm capable. In back of my head I keep telling myself I didn't buy a brand new truck to have to mess with it. But, the more I think about it I'd rather find the issue myself and have the dealer fix it than blindly trust what they tell me after looking at it tomorrow.
