ok fellas, I’m stumped…. My steering column just started clunking. In an effort to better describe, I feel it when driving on my gravel driveway, as well as when navigating uneven roadways. If I quickly whip the wheel back and forth (1/8 turn or less), I also feel it.
Here’s the kicker…. If I retract the telescopic function 1/2”, it stops. I’d prefer to utilize the entire range of my steering column, and am hoping to hear from someone else that has dealt with this already!

it certainly appears to be isolated to the column, as retraction of the column wouldn’t change things if it were an issue otherwise. At least not in my little brain, it wouldn’t. I did just install new coilovers and UCA’s, and had an alignment done at a very reputable shop 10 days ago. To be completely honest, I called him and had him check it out today. He’s the one that figured out that it went away with slight retraction of the column.

Truck drives great, but this clunk has me irritated…. Thoughts???

    Thanks,
    Chad
