You're trying to put which bumper on? Like the 00-02 metal bumper? Or an aftermarket bumper? Pics.would.help.

Is the metal bumper a direct swap (assuming you have all hardware/bracketry) for the bumper cover? I have a 2006 with some front and rear bumper issues. Was contemplating adding the steel bumpers from the earlier trucks.

My bumper is an oem but does not come complete with everything you need. I used thesubassembly diagram from toyotaofcoopsprings for steel bumper to make sure had all parts. The one issue I am having is the left/lright mounting bracket bolts. There is no size given so I asked coolsprings got the bolts yesterday but were too small. I found that the bolt size is the sane as that used on the reenforcment bar, size 14 fine thread. Once I receive the bolts I can finally put together.

It is a direct swap until you get to the mounting brackets
