Hard to believe but my McCulough 1270 steamer that I got in March of this year has died on me. The on off switch seemed to stick when I went to turn it on and basically fell apart in my hands. McCulough has informed me that the switch is a non-replaceable part and since my machine was purchased from E-Bay and has an Aug-19 serial number it is no longer in warranty.

To tell you the truth I'm pretty ticked right now because I probably only used this thing 3-4 times since I got it, and once was cleaning my tile grout in the kitchen, so it really hasn't had a hard life so far.

McCulough is going to send me a 30% off coupon if I want to buy from them. What would you guys do, or are there better options out there to buy? I want to stay under 175.00.

    Thanks.

Non replaceable? I'd figure a way to replace it. Can you remove the switch to get some numbers off it?

I'll have to take the side off the thing to see what I am looking at. The switch has what looks to be some fusible link in it but it's hard to tell what it might be. I'll take your suggestions first and see what I can do with it. Still pisses me off.

Thought I'd write back to let you know I got a switch from Amazon (where else) popped it in and it worked like a champ. No need to take the steamer apart. Part number: Mutek :MXU1-5-101NR, you get a package of 5 for 8 bucks. Its a single pole double throw switch.
