In my 2018 I was able to add a personalized startup screen. Can't seem to find that this is an option on the 3rd gen. Anyone tried to figure this out yet?

I'm new to the Tundra, what do you mean personalized start up screen? I understand each word individually, but not sure how "personalized" you could go in the 18. What are you wanting to do?

Right now when you start the truck some sort of warning pops up on the radio screen, but there is also the toyota symbol. In the previous gen you could upload an image of your choice and set it in place of the stock toyota symbol. My platinum also has a digital "gauge cluster" and wonder if you can customize there as well.

I have this customized on my 2016 as well. I have not heard that it is possible on the new 2022 trucks. In fact, it is not possible to customize the 2021s either, think the last year that you could was 2019.

Has anyone found a way to change the startup screen on the new 2022 and newer Tundra multimedia unit? I am not paying for the Toyota navigation which is over priced and both Waze and Google maps are much better and free. Once your 1 year subscription ends everytime you start up, the screen for toyota navigation come up asking to subscribe. Luckily andriod auto takes over in a minute or 2 but if you don't have your phone you need to change the screen or look at this forced ad! Toyota says there is no way to change the start up display but maybe someone has figured out a Hack. Compared to our 2021 Highlander this new system is a major downgrade.
I also see Our son just got a 2023 Tacoma and it does not have this new system, why??? Could it be they are rethinking the new multimedia in the Tundra?

I'm kinda embarrassed to admit that I don't drive anywhere without my phone. I also don't use the Toyota navigation subscription, so I just let CarPlay take over and ignore the subscription advertisement. Google Maps in satellite view on the 14" screen is one of my favorite features.
