Is the SR5 with more sidewall in the tires overall better for washboards and ruts. Less gadgets that can break or wear on the battery? The only extra I really need is heated seats.

What do you prefer about the platinum? I see a fair bit of 1794 platinums for sale. Not sure if its because many were sold back then or people didn't end up liking them.

Get a 5.7 sr5 and spend the extra on a supercharger, long tube headers, gears, and brakes. You will arrive before your ass gets cold!

I wouldn't let the wheel/tire size dictate the trim. Buy one that has the features you want, and either trade or buy wheels in the size you want. More sidewall will be a cushier ride and better for airing down off road, but larger wheels with less sidewall will track better on pavement. All depends on what you want to do with your truck.

So you can swap a stock 20" for a stock 18" wheel with no issues?

2007-2021 you can fit as small as some 17" wheels or 18"s just fine. offset is important for oversized tires though. there was a factory 17 inch "rock warrior" wheel.

Correct. Bolt pattern doesn't change so long as you are using the same generation of truck. So a Gen 1 Tundra can't swap with the Gen 2, and I think Gen 3 is all new. Basically, any stock 2022 Tundra wheel will fit any 2022 Tundra regardless of trim.

The 1794 and platinum are different models but both are luxury models that are only sold in crewmax. Leather, heated seats, roll down rear window, color-matched bumpers, shitty premium sound systems and 20" wheels.
Not sure why you see an abundance of them considering they're the premium models and no, they're kick ass. The interior on my truck is by far my favorite of any truck ive been in.

I think Toyota is missing the fact that not everyone wants a 4 door short bed. No way I would own a crew cab short bed. Why did they not offer an extended cab with shorter wheelbase 6.5' bed or same wheelbase 7.5' bed.

Turning radius could use some help. I've had my 2020 DC Sr5 almost 2 years and have not even put the rear seats down.

The Double cab 6.5' bed and the CrewMax 5.5' bed are the same wheel base. Pretty sure they've been that way since gen 2. The CM 6.5' and the DC 8' share the same wheel base, IIRC. It simplifies production if you only have 1 or 2 wheel bases.

I would pull the seats and build it out into something more useful. Nowhere to store the seat right now.

Nah. The rest of the truck world makes crew cabs w/8 ft beds. I love the longer rigs

I have some buddy's with CC 8ft beds and they take alot of room to turn around. I am just wanting a shorter cab and more bed with all the bells and whistles up front. Drop in campers would have more floor space, 2 dirt bikes would fit with the tailgate closed. Plenty reasons for the longer bed without making the truck longer.

A double cab would actually have a lot of room coming from an extended cab.

    Yes
    Doubtful
Then get the SR5 with the lowest package that gets you heated seats (used to be called the Upgrade Package on the 2.5 gen) and save your money.
