SR5 3rd Gen Grill Swap

Has anyone swapped their grill in a SR5 3rd gen to any other grill, like the TRD Pro grill? Would love to see pics. Just wondering if I will like the look before I pull the trigger. Not a fan of the SR5 grill so just looking for something different

The reason you can't find anything is because people keep asking questions in new posts for shit that has been beat to death and then you can't find anything because people keep asking questions that have already been covered. That make sense? Sooooo by starting a new thread you're adding to the difficulty in finding the useful information you're after. You can get bent out of shape for thinking "it would be helpful to look for answers here" or you can play around with how the search function works and when that doesn't work start a new thread.

In one scenario you are being lazy and not figuring out how to find the information you seek and clogging up the forum and the other you are figuring shit out and don't' get told to learn how to search.

How do you think others are going to find the answers you're after? from memory? no they're going to search for it.

You, my friend are one miserable person. I'd hate to live my life being that miserable. I was looking for pics or any info on SR5 specifically which has been very difficult to find for me. You think I haven't searched or watched videos on the process itself? Good lord man. Calm down and try to enjoy life a little. Be helpful to the people that post or at least friendly. I have looked around on this forum. I can't find a thing on what I'm looking for specifically. But hey since it's so easy, why don't you link me a thread of what I asked for and be helpful. Shouldn't be too hard to find on here according to you. Why don't you respond to a thread and be helpful instead of looking for one to be negative about?

Yep. Used that link. I did the exact thing before posting. Not helpful on what my post was asking. I didn't ask how to do it. I didn't ask where to buy or part numbers. I didn't ask on the specifics of anything. My post was about the looks. Before and after pics. Anything helpful along those lines. I hate the regular SR5 grill. I want to install a different one but not sure the heritage grill or TRD grill or the honeycomb grills will look "right" on my SR5. I've googled and searched but since this is a Tundra forum I thought more people could weigh in or help, not be a-holes that just respond "search is your friend."

Hint a TRD pro grill on a non TRD Pro tundra looks exactly like a TRD pro (so go to Toyota's website and you'll see what a pro looks like for an after photo).

Also there are literally before and after pics in half the links in both those search's, the door has been shown to you..... now just walk through it.

Took a self imposed brake from the forum for while, so I missed that gem and just searched that user and you couldn't be more dead on...

 

Can anyone point me to the part numbers for the clips that hold the fender flares to the fender and also the clips on the painted ends of the front bumper assembly just below the headlights? I'd like to have a few extra on hand just in case any of them break during the disassembly process. I have to be able to get the truck back together same-day. Thanks. I finally found a website with a decent amount of diagrams, but I cannot find these.

 

For those of you who've done the swap and used the OEM marker lights, what do these four tabs mount to? I see where the two screws go obviously because there are corresponding bosses behind the 'Toyota' letters, but I ordered the four pushpins also indicated on parts diagram that go in these tabs. Maybe it will make sense when I take the other one apart, but the way they point straight back puts them into the shutter assembly?

 

I missed all this drama. Crazy how low post members can talk so much shit and need help at the same time.

 

Those guys line up with some other tabs on the grille surround to hold the marker light assy in place. I ordered my grille and OEM marker lights from the yota garage and of course it didn’t come with hardware, so I used zip ties for the time being and it’s pretty solid. Looked like it’d be a M6 screw/nut situation.

edit: just tried to look at my truck to remember the answer to your second question. The grille shutter is in the way, so you’re right that they go straight towards the shutter assy. It doesn’t interfere, though!
