    Sup Gents,
I just up graded from a 2010 Taco SR5 to a 2016 Tundra SR. I noticed the other day when I tried to wash my windshield, the wipers didn't come on. I had to turn them on manually. Is this normal or is mine messed up? If it is normal how can I make do what I want?

When I pull forward on the wiper switch, I get water/cleaner but no wipers.

Yep...doesn't sound right. At least my 07 wipers do function when I pull switch forward.

Does the SR have “intermittant wipers”?

The reason I ask is that my previous base model Tacoma did not have intermittant wipers, and did not automatically wipe when you use the washers.

Upgrading to intermittant wipers was as simple as replacing the switch stalk, and I gained auto-wipe at the same time.

I wonder if it’s not the same here.

It does not, but I'm thinking the same thing. I just want to make sure before I spend money on new stalk's.

On my 2013, if I just give it a quick tap, the wipers wont come on. If I give it a long pull, the wiper come on after a second or so. So try pulling back on the stalk and count 1000-1, 1000-2, 1000-3. If they don't come on by 1000-3, you've got an issue. If the wipers come on, you'll know they and the switch are working correctly.

My 2016 SR does the same thing. No intermittent wipers either.

My 18’ doesn’t wipe when squirting either- and no SR’s have intermittent wipers - saw somewhere on here that u can buy intermittent control handle for approx $100
Don’t seem that important till u don’t have it

Big difference between options/ bells and whistles from SR to SR5

SR is base model/ stripped down trim package

It's not broken. It's working normally.

That is how cheesy Toyota is. If you ask the dealer to upgrade the wipers they will tell you "the truck needs to be entirely re-wired" (at least thats the story I got from a local dealer). As mentioned previously, buying the upgraded wiper stalk and swapping it in only takes about 30 minutes.

Thanks guys, I'll get the stalks for both the wipers and headlights with the fog light switch.
