Hi, long story short I purchased a 2012 Toyota Tundra w/ 114k miles from a dealer and it now has a odd squeaking nose coming from the back. This only occurs when accelerating slowly and dies down usually after 45mph. Squeaking sounds like bed squeaks. I am confident it is not shock related (jumping on the back makes no noise) and am wanting confirmation on whether it is the ujoint or not and how to go about it. If it is the ujoint, is the issue urgent, or can I leave it as is?

    Thanks for the help.

How about squeezing some grease into the U-joints to see if the noise goes away?

You could also put wheel chocks on the front wheels, put the truck in neutral, then put the rear axle on jack stands. This would let you spin things and see what's making the noise.

You just need bearing grease in a grease gun.

Turns out the owners before me repaired the ujoint and drive shaft by hammering it back in place. Have to replace the whole driveshaft. Sleezy salesman didn't say any issues and it was Jerry rigged to last the drive home.
