Hi, accidentally spilled some coffee on my climate controls in my 2010 crewmax and now the defrost won’t turn off and lights went out on climate control unit... anyone else ever have this happen? If so any fixes? Does the whole unit need to be replaced? Or is there something behind the face that needs to be replaced rather than the control face. Thanks in advance for any help or insight. Such a bonehead mistake on my part.

It's easy to pull them out. Lots of YouTube video. Pull them out and clean it and see. Disconnect the battery first.

Liquids are a great conductor of electrical current. It may stop when the coffee drys up. You can also try blowing some compressed air to dry it quicker. I’d try that first before you spend any money on parts. There are also some aerosol die-electric sprays you can try as well, also called contact cleaner. I hope It’s something simple

Ditto on trying contact cleaner first. CRC is good.

I just Joined this forum a month ago and everybody on here is great! Most auto parts stores carry contact cleaner. Some office supply place too

So I had the whole thing apart and dried, used some crc on the connection points and the heat was still going full blast when I reconnected everything. I discinnected the battery one more time and was able to get it to turn off, but now I have no heat or AC... no power to the climate controls at all. Any other suggestions? I fear I burnt the control board. Thanks again for all the help given so far!

Sorry to hear that. I’d give it another 24 to 48 hours just in case it’s not completely dry yet. You may try disconnecting the battery one more time for at least several minutes. Hopefully you didn’t cook the board. Good luck
