I researched this a bit and cannot find solid answers.

    2017 Tundra:
I've had this truck for about 5k miles (45K) and last night this started to happen for the first time; automated voice alert through my speakers telling me what the speed limit is. WTH? How do I turn this off? I have not changed any settings, nor have I added any software. Funny though, I feel like it only happens on a portion of my work commute. Is this something geographical lol?

    Thanks for info.

Phone was connected, happens with or without music. Closed Google maps. Disconnected from entune. No other apps open...still happened.

My Kenwood did this crap when I first bought my truck. Only happened when there was traffic, and the voice would come on and say "traffic ahead". No shit, I have eyes. Ended up being some obscure setting in the navigation.
I also agree that it may be your Iphone. My deep hatred for Apple started when they first came out with Itunes. What a stupid music platform. My wife and daughters have Iphones and they are constantly complaining about the updates. Thanks, I'll stick with my Android.

So not 100%, but believe it may have been Google Maps App. Not sure why, but the setting "Play voice over Bluetooth" was selected on. I never messed with it originally. I turned it off and so far so good. But as crazy as it sounds, I need to drive that section of road on the way to work, as it only really happened there? So strange LOL.

To be honest, the voice just irritated me and made me slam on the accelerator rather than not speed.

Google is as bad or worse than Apple. But their maps are good. And they are Android. I like my Galaxy S10e, but can't get away from the bastards. They all want to run your life.

    I want to update:
Problem is fixed but it wasn't what I expected. It was the Scout GPS app, which I don't have on my phone. I noticed this installed on my truck main electronic home screen. Had to go into app, to settings, and switch off the "speed limit alert". You can also choose different voices if you desire to use this app. I had to disable it.
Just an FYI to anyone researching down the road and finding this thread. It wasn't my phone.
