Back in the day I had a Datsun SPL-311, also referred to as a Datsun Fairlady or a 1600 Roadster. [And its racing twin, the SRL-311 aka 2000 roadster] I still have parts sitting in the garage that someone wants me to sell or "throw out the junk".
And the first car I purchased was a new 1977 Datsun B210 "Nifty-fifty" because it had an EPA highway rating of 50 mpg. [I know @Wahayes you were born in '83]

I had several Datsuns. 510 car and wagon, then a little truck and later a Nissan 4x4.
The Datsun 510 was unstoppable, with a few mods they were winning rally races worldwide in the late ’70’s. I bought rally struts “coordinated for take off and landing characteristics” plus some engine stuff and wheel. It would kick ass when 4x4’s would turn around and go home.
The Nissan 4x4 was awesome and literally seemed to swim in mud. Somewhere they seemed to loose the cutting edge to Toyota by the mid ‘90’s.
Loved the 1st gen Tacoma but that 6cyl engine sucked

    I had a 1990 4X4 standard Pathfinder that I bought new.
    Looked like this one..

Traded in my 1988 GMC RCSB step-side pickup for it.
We had a kid and couldn't fit a car seat in the pickup.

Owned it for 4 years and I don't recall having any issues with it.
Got divorced and traded the Pathfinder in on a lowered 1994 Chevy step-side ext cab
I loved that Chevy, except for the mechanical issues it had.
Looking back I should have kept the Nissan..

Traded that Chevy in on a new 1997 4X4 4Runner.
    Been Toyotas ever since..

Had a 2001 Pathfinder SE 4x4, with Manual Transmission and Manual 4x4 Transfer Case, 3.5L VQ35DE engine. For what I paid and how it performed... That thing was a beast. I beat on it pretty hard without doing anything other than regular maintenance and it's taken me on some great adventures. I managed to take it over the Whipsaw trail completely stock, only needing help to be pulled up one obstacle/rock ledge that in hindsight I could have made it up.

No regrets with that thing. Recently the alternator and the master brake cylinder went but it's sitting in my driveway still... Now that I have a Tundra for my reliable truck purposes I'm contemplating turning the Pathfinder into a purely off-road rig with a welded diff and some M/T's.

The '06 3.5 had a known oil control ring issue, Nissan replaced the motor at 18k with the same motor & gave it a 12k, 18 month warranty. It also failed at 18k, 24 or so months & they said pound sand, how about lifetime free oil changes?

    Adios Nissan.

I should add, until the 350, I loved all of my prior Datsun/Nissans.

My son is driving this 1988 D21 4x4, picked it up a few years ago for $600. We replaced the T-belt, fuel pump and starter. So far it’s been a good truck plus I got to teach him how to work on his own vehicle and taught him how to drive a manual:thumbsup:20220925_114435.jpg

I had a few back in the day.

Two different 95 240SXs, one of which I SR swapped. That was a seriously fun car that I regret ever getting rid of. The other 240 stayed mostly stock and was still plenty fun.
Then I briefly had a ‘92 240SX convertible that I manual swapped. That thing was super fun but the whole bottom was rusted out. Found some guy wanting to totally restore it and I let him have the fun rather than me.
And the last Nissan I owned was a ‘90 D21 hardbody long bed manual. I absolutely loved that truck. Stupid good gas mileage, fun to drive, and just enough power to get out of its own way. It was coming up on 400k and had its issues, so away it went.

still have my 2008 V8 Nissan Pathfinder 4x4 bought new by me in 2007 :) as a matter of fact, just did the oil change this morning.
Still runs strong. 5.6L V8 engine in a midsize SUV. That thing is a rocket getting on the freeway.

88 hardbody. First new vehicle I ever bought. It was a great truck. Mom had a honey bee when I was a kid. I remember waiting in long lines for gas back then.

I had an 08 Titan, I sold it to buy an 08 200 Series LC. Sold the LC to buy my 18 Tundra. Honestly I loved my Titan. It towed well, was sporty, and was comfortable.

My first 4x4 was a 2013 frontier. Loved that truck. It got me into 4 wheeling and overlanding(truck camping). Would still have it if family wasn’t growing.

Edit: honestly I regret selling it since it was paid off and I would have solid axle swapped it and made it my wheeler.

4Humpers are indestructible. They need 2 more cylinders but beyond that they are perfect. Wish I'd kept my 2015... transmission never emitted any kind of visible light indicating it was about to spontaneously combust.

I like nissans, i had a 99 Maxima SE. Leather and stick. Was decently quick. Reliable as a rock, but thristy. Sold a truck to buy it. Did the math and wasnt saving any money with the price of premium fuel. D'oh!

    Too many, but not enough....
I had a 1994 Nissan 300zx Twin Turbo 5 speed manual 2 seater. Such a great and fun car even though it was a pig. It was emerald green, super clean and tastefully modded to about 430 hp. Even the cops that pulled me over would compliment it lol. Never had many issues with it but it wasn't the easiest car to work on.

It was the last car in my JDM tuner phase of life. Went to a 4x4 Ford ranger manual tranny after that and been in a truck ever since. Loved that ranger but was not family friendly.

I find it funny when people say the Tundra is a pig, I've driven a 300ZX TT and you can literally watch the fuel gauge slowly but steadily move down when you're flooring it. :bananadance:

Seriously. Especially since I upped the boost. When you weren't boosting tho it actually got great mileage.

My wife (then girlfriend) had an 06ish Nissan Murano. That piece of garbage had all kinds of issues and left her stranded a couple of times after disconnecting the air intake from the engine - once at a busy intersection where some good Samaritans had to help push her car off the road. A/C would intermittently decide to stop working, especially on hot days. Radiator eventually just 'popped'. Finally, shortly after we got married, we brought it in for an oil change and found out the engine had worn through its mounts (never caught previously by the geniuses at Nissan despite being a common failure point) and shook itself to an early grave - they quoted me $8k for a new engine. I told them there was no way I was putting that much money into the thing. They then asked me if I would want to trade it in for a new Nissan Murano - I'll let you all use your imagination on the kind words I gave them in reply. The next week we stitched it up as well as we could and traded it in for her current 4Runner.

Nissan could call me tomorrow and offer a free Titan/QX80/whatever, and I would decline without a second thought. Good riddance.
