Spare tire lug nuts???

    My alloys that I run 9 months of the year have different lug nuts than the steel wagon wheels I use in the winter, which I think is normal. Which lug nuts are used for the spare tire? It just occurred to me that if I had a flat, I might not have the right lug nuts to use it…

    Torque specs are different between the alloys and steel.

    The oem shank-style lug nuts for Toyota alloys have a small taper to make them compatible with a steel wheel spare.

    Yep, Toyota engineers solved this a long time ago. It's safe to use them to get you around on a spare.
