So much info Im gonna see what you guys think. I found some Noico 80mill matts on craigslist for cheap. Some people are doing inside the door skin and others are doing the outer door skin. I saw one guy had done both. ********* video showed just the outer skin.

Is doing both over kill? My goal is a quieter ride for my 4k mile trip this summer. I want it as comfy for a truck as I can get it. The kids watch movies in the back and the wife and I try to keep conversation. The constant hum can be annoying. Thoughts and suggestions?

I did both, with a layer of closed cell foam on the inner. The foam really helps block outside noises.

Big Box butyl liner works well, too. Doors and windows section. Looks like the same OEM stuff as inside the 2002 Tundra cab on the floor well for sound deadener. You’ll want some foam or fiber matting as a combo to help achieve the best results. No need to do 100% coverage on all surfaces. 30-40% coverage max so you can spread out your materials for less $.

I am going hardcore, Kilmat cheap lining on the outer door skins, but full Soundskins on the inner wall. I want this thing quiet on the highway as well.

I put some of the kilmat in the back tailgate while I was at it too.
