My car started giving me battery problems so when i changed my battery I noticed my car milagw dropping and going up as I drive. It never dod that it stayed before at 14.20 mph now it goes from 9-11 and also my maximum gas miles were 298 and my tank is halfway and it says im at 245 which is wrong im not sure if changing the battery had something to do with this issue someone please help:fingerscrossed:

Your gas mileage got reset and now that it started at 0, it’s sensitive to change as it’s calculating the average. As you get more miles it will become more consistent and not change as easily.

I wish it was just a little bit of time. Drives me crazy when you reset it. It takes me 3-4 months to get it back to accurate and I drive about 22k per year. When I reset it it says something like 600+ miles to empty. WAY off.

Yep ... it takes my Tundra several fill-ups to even out. I replaced the starter in mine on Christmas Eve and had everything disconnected. It is just now getting to the point (after two fill ups) where the gas milage and "miles to empty" indicator are getting back to normal. If you have a general idea of how many miles you can get on a fill-up, you should be fine. Just don't run it too low until things are back to normal ... or if you do, carry an extra couple gallons of gas with you ;) When I first hooked things up, it indicated I could get 460 miles on a tank. I don't even get close to that ... more like 315-320. I just filled up a few days ago, and it said 350 to empty, so it's creeping in the right direction ;)
