Knowing how my business pays a-lot of money to use social media and the like in promoting and showing how are service is better then others - to be honest were no different but its a shark world in commerce ; some of these complaints are ridiculous and makes me question the legitimacy of these members with very little postings.

I got my 2023 at the end of Dec 2022 and its a work horse . From extreme cold temperatures north of Ontario that normal temperatures hit -30 C , towing the company chipper to generators . The truck is always full of tools and ive already exceeded 14500 km in 3 mths.

Not one issue and there still on my snow tires .

is there a little bit of wind noise on the passenger side ? Sure but its not a Mercedes.

Some music bass sounds make a little bit of noise that was easily solved BUT was not a big deal at all.

Guess Toyota made a super super special truck just for little old me ! Lol

Glad to hear that your truck is good.

I want to love my truck, but it's just not there.
Dealer fixed my whistling mirror noise, but cabin is still a bit noisy on the freeway at high speed. My 2013 Ram truck was dead quiet on the freeway, I can whisper in the cabin and you'll hear me at back seat.

My 1794 driver seat is hard, with some sort of hard surface right in middle of the seat... Maybe duct or something. It's like wtf... My nv200 work van seats are soft and cushy, pleasure to drive in.

Non trd suspension sucks, bouncy, harsh on even slightly bumpy asphalt roads and turns like a boat. I have a rental highlander now and that thing sucks up any bumps or potholes like it's not there. Feels like I have wooden wheels on my Tundra.

Speaking of boats, the turning radius sucks... My ram was sooo much tighter and easier to drive in the city.

Bed rattles when back window is down... Tried to have dealer fix it but instead they scratched my truck... And no fix available for the bed rattle. It's in their body shop now.

When you pay big bucks for something, you want to love it, not just be happy that it didn't break... Yet.

But I'll have to keep my truck and put some money into upgrades to hopefully make it better for me. Too expensive to trade in (~$20k loss) as in California we pay sales tax each time.

If my 10 year old ram bighorn mid-level trim has a much better ride than my new luxury Tundra, which cost almost double, yes I can complain about it's ride.

It's low of you to accuse me of being the problem and defend the shortcomings that new Tundra's have.

Maybe a different perspective, to me these upper trim levels are luxury cars with a bed. This truck can get dirty during the week and go black tie on the weekend. I’m extremely tall and this is the first tundra I’ve been able to fit in. Traded my f350 srw for this and there are a couple of flaws that stand out. For me so far both are seat related. The squeak mid back and seating area have gotten progressively more uncomfortable as the miles accumulate. That being said, I was a little nervous to buy this thing after reading this forum for a few months. But after putting some miles on it, it’s a fantastic truck. The ride is amazing. I don’t have any unusual wind noise, good power, and so far I love it. I guess I would say don’t discount someone’s opinion due to post count. Like me, others have come from different brands and have some things to offer, in pointing out differences. I for one am just happy to fit comfortably in it. I hope to drive it for a decade if it will let me.

They are high trim level "Trucks" I own luxury cars guess what , the fords , rams, gmc's , do not compare to those either. Other than one small defect in a my leather seat, and some bass rattle which I can fix I am very happy. It has a really nice comfortable interior good ride, and was an absolutely confident beast in the nasty winter weather, even pulled a few cars and trucks out this winter.

I'm sure some do have issues it happens, but like anything you hear about those the most its human nature.

Mainly early MY22 trucks were affected by the problems you referenced, they seem to have ironed them out with late MY22 and MY23 Tundra's. So just because they are not prevalent on your truck doesn't meant they weren't early on, thankfully Toyota is getting ahead with Q/C and implementing change much faster than the other OEM's to their credit.

I think the expectations of someone buying a higher trim are likely different than someone buying a lower trim. A lot of higher trim customers are also new (or returning) to the truck market. I've never owned a luxury trim of a truck (or any vehicle for that matter) so I never expect a truck to offer any type of "refined" ride quality or passenger experience.

I've owned the following trucks and these form the basis of my tolerance of what other people see as "issues". Some were new and others were CPOs when I bought them:
    • 1984 F-150 2WD - 4 on the floor, 4.9L inline 6, manual everything...including steering. My first truck.
    • 1996 Ford Ranger XL 2WD 5 Speed
    • 2007 Ford F150 XLT 2WD SuperCrew w/ 6' bed
    • 2005 Tacoma 4WD Access Cab w/ 6-speed manual
    • 2012 4Runner SR5 4WD (It's body-on-frame so I'm counting it in the "truck" column)
    • 2022 Tundra DC TRD OR
Every truck I've ever owned has rattled, had wind noise, rode rough (i.e. like a truck), etc. Not saying you can't be or shouldn't be nit-picky when spending a crazy amount of money on something like a Platinum or Capstone. To each their own. I just think people's expectations have skyrocketed, all the while manufacturers still think of trucks as...trucks. You can make the interior as nice as you want, but it's still a body-on-frame design at the end of the day that is meant to haul things, tow things, and have ground clearance to traverse rough roads.

Most of issues with new gen tundra are bigger than they seem because they paid 20% or more for msrp plus dealer markups. When you pay that much for something it better be flawless, and it seems like toyota increased prices while cutting corners which angers consumers.

Most issues with the new generation are minor issues. Interior rattles , wind noise .... etc. I've owned 2001 F150 215000km needed transmission ,rear diff, 3 manifolds, 4x4 issues 2007 Tundra 227000km trouble free 2012 Tundra 75000 km trouble free 2017 Titan 13500km needed new short block, 2019 3.5 ecoboost 37000km phaser rattle. Generally Toyota powertrain are pretty solid which most other OE companies can't say the same. I think what has people frustrated is lack of quality control in new generation of Tundra. Bottom line corners were cut and it shows in certain areas basically interior things and noises. I believe if a vehicle cost between $50000 to $80000 depending on trim level it has a level of quality that is excepted and these trucks are unfortunately don't meet that level for some people. Myself I've had my share of minor issue with my 2022 but I'm willing to work out the bugs as my dealership is excellent through the process.

An SR5 crew cab in 2014 w/ the 5.7 started at just over 34k
An SR5 crew cab in 2023 I just priced a regular no options at just over 50k

    34k in 2014 = 50k in 2023

The point is they are relatively the same price adjusted for inflation, but I suspect some buyers now have a higher expectation. Also each brand offers different high points, and the purchaser should buy the brand that offers them the best value. That will be different for everyone. I don’t think there is a “best” truck, but there is a “best” truck for each situation or buyer.
