    Hey All,
    I have a 2018 Tundra SR5 Crew Max TRD with about 50k.
Today I felt and heard something strange. Strong vibration in the gas pedal along with a “boing” sound, similar to a coil type door stop when you pull it and let it go.
Seems to only happen when I go from park or neutral into drive, and then lightly press on the gas pedal. Possibly only happens when the truck is on an incline/hill, but need to test it out more.
Here’s a link to the video I took on YouTube. Couldn’t upload a .MOV file.

sounds like the ABS pump plus the loud click. check for ABS codes.

Hmm, on an incline/hill? This sounds similar to your brake pads gripping/slipping when you put it from Park to Drive. You said Gas pedal, not the brake though… I agree with @Toyotech170891 get an OBD2 scanning tool and scan for codes. Sounds like it would be your ABS pump.

Thanks for the replies. Just to clarify, the clunking sound at the beginning is me going from neutral to drive I can lift my foot off of the brake pedal without the truck moving because it’s on a slight incline. Once I lightly touch the gas the sound initiates. It’s definitely something like a servo, pump, etc. 100% consistent sound, duration, etc. not coming from the brake pads but from somewhere very close to the gas pedal. Can really feel it there.
I’ll hook up my OBD and check.

Could be something loose that is vibrating. Cat shield could be looked at for starters.

I had to replace our ABS pump in our Sequoia and used my bidirectional scan tool to actuate, bleed and test it and also road tested it. To me, it doesn’t necessarily sound like the ABS pump.

Usually ABS issues will light your dash up and throw the VSC off, ABS and BRAKE lights on. Would be good to get your hands on a bidirectional scanner if you can. Or pull the fuse or relay for the ABS control module and see if you still hear the noise, at least to rule it out.
