Also to everyone else (mainly) @e30cabrio the new batch of pulleys I saw getting machined two or three days ago. I haven't been told an ETA from the machinist yet, but if his schedule is anything like last time I expect the new batch to arrive sometime next week.

Got the new batch of pulleys in and sent out the remaining orders today! Very happy with the new batch, the previous ones were a tight fit and in a lot of cases required some massaging to make work, these ones have the perfect amount of slop so they all slide together great. I also dropped the center bore down so all of them work, where as the last batch had a couple no goes and a lot of "will press but not sure how much torque it will handle". All the ones from the previous batch I sent out were matched and picked because they assembled nicely and were a tight press fit, this whole batch is that way!

 

You sir are now a jewelry maker! Those look fantastic! Bravo!

@snivilous Just to confirm, these pulleys will work with the prior batch of hubs correct? Once you confirm I'll order the 2.2 to add to the collection.

 

LOVE the Techtonics sticker, I've got them pasted everywhere! In HS and right after they were the "company store"...just sign over the paycheck.

 

They SHOULD. I have not test fit one yet, I just checked them and went into town to mail off the ones I needed. I will confirm when I get home, but something would be very wrong if they didn't!

Nothing different than any other pulley install. Main thing is I suggest putting the anti seize on the bolt threads as well as the interface between the pulley and hub, and then don't crank down on the bolts but just get them snug plus a little extra.

 

Last time I changed the pulley I bought a hydraulic press to remove/install. It's lowered my heart rate and prolonged my life...

 

Completely agree. I remember being in college helping guys where we would "press" stuff in the parking lot ie smash the shit out of it with a hammer. It's nice to see I've progressed to afford a $200 HF press

 

Same! 20-ton harbor freight press made super easy work of installing the pulley. Haven't used it since lol but know I will for something down the line

 

I'm eventually installing the solid motor mounts, is it possible I might get the room needed to R&R the pulley/hub if I push up a bit when the mounts are disconnected?

I don't think so, the pulley is so low in the engine bay relative to a place of room I think it's unlikely.
