I ordered a replacement passenger side mirror insert with backing plate. A couple of the little snap pieces used to mount broke in the process of replacing it. Does anyone have a source that I can order those seperately? I have attached a picture to illustrate what I am talking about. Thanks!mirror snaps.jpg

Not sure about this. Just make sure those rings on the end tip are squared off when doing the insert for whoever is reading this. The mirrors come off easily enough. The put back is a Precision Hand Eye Technique left for the Master of Arts. If one cone goes on easily and the other flails slightly then do not force it and pull out and do a total reset.

New OEM Mirror from Stealer is about $37 each (has backing and cone thingies).

I ordered a OEM Toyota replacement mirror sub assembly with backing plate just like your picture illustrates and it did not come with the snap inserts. They are broken and that is what I need to re-install it correctly. I do not see them listed separately in the Toyota parts diagrams.

Good info. I’ve been contemplating ordering two new mirrors as I am currently doing a Turn Signal Project inside the mirror assy. I didn’t realize those inserts removed. Hope someone else can help you tonight.
