I bought a Diamondback HD cover that is due to be complete in March.
I have read that due to the design of the bed rail caps, they can allow water into the bed.
Sealing under the cap will help with water getting in, but the top has a design that also allows water to get in.

My question is, do they make a bed rail cap that is smooth for the 2.5 Gen Crewmax?

I can't answer your question regarding if a smooth bed rail cap is available.
I can tell you that if you follow the instructions from Diamondback, your cover will not leak. Mine certainly hasn't leaked.
    It's been a great cover.

I live about 2.5 hours away and plan to have them install it to help ensure it does not leak.

Unfortunately, I believe there are no aftermarket bed rail caps at all.

I have a 2021 Crewmax 1794 with a Diamondback HD cover, and it has not leaked a drop. Even went through a touch car wash, still no leaks! I did have to adjust(tighten) the fastners to the bedrail again after a trip from Texas to Minnesota and back again however!

Did you do anything special under the caps or anywhere else?

No, I just followed the directions that came from diamondback for installation, and all is good!
