I’ve been using 303 on my weathertec floor mats to bring them back to life but I’m not crazy about how slippery they get. Any suggestions for something that brings the color back but isn’t slippery?

Ive had the same trying 303 on floormats, dosent work, way too slick. Dawn and a good degreaser will get them clean. Only coating that I know of that may work and not be slick, come off over time is Cerakote.

Yeah did the dawn/simple green mixture from the interior detailing sticky which got them clean, but the 303 made them look brand new… But also almost put me in the hospital haha

Weathertech offers a cleaner and protectant. Works exceptionally well. No slide with protectant.

VLR doesn’t shine them quite like 303, but it’s also not as slick. Shiny equals slick.

I used the meguires black plastic restorer and that shined up my black weather tech mats without making them slippery

My OEM Toyota Rubber mats have served me well for over a year with NO fading even in Fl. Just wash once in awhile and vacuum every time I wash the truck. Aslo I have been using 303 for years and don't understand how it slippery since its water based but would never use it on mats, pedals etc just because.

I’d think Solution Finish or Cerakote would be great for this if done correctly. Both do an excellent job of restoring black plastic without being slick. A bit labor intensive (relatively) but should do what you want and last a long time.

That said, I’ve not tried either of these on floor mats so I accept no liability if I’m wrong.

Thanks for all the replies! As far as Cerakote goes I think I’m done trying that lol the product works great and exactly how it’s supposed to but I’ve learned that I’m not the best at applying it lol

I use 303 on my WeatherTech's and it works pretty well in my experience. I always let it sit for a few hours and buff it off with a clean rag, it takes away the slickness. My biggest gripe is the material the mats are made with...I wish they were more rubbery like Husky mats.

I saw a video that said you can use ceramic on your weathertechs and it will not leave it slippery. So, I tried some leftover adams ceramic coating on them and sure enough it worked perfectly! Highly recommend!

I take my rubber floor mats to the car wash and use the car wash “car wax” to coat the mats. Afterwords I go over the mats with the rinse setting. Makes the mats nice and black and does not leave a slippery residual.

No, I do not use the car wash car wax on my vehicle.

I use 303 on all my interior surfaces except the floor mats. I've actually been using Adams H2O guard and gloss on them for a while and it keeps them looking hydrated and new without being greasy/slippery
