    Hello,

New here and to first gen Tundras, not toyotas though, have had/have a few. Newbie:)
Anyhow when taking off in my 06 DC 4x4 85k miles it feels like a slight slip or clunk when accelerating from a stop. This happens when the 4wd is already engaged.
    This doesn't happen every time.
Doesn't do it in 2 wheel drive. Tranny has been serviced and has a clean bill of health.
No odd noises or anything I've noticed as of yet.
    Appreciate the replies.

    Cheers

So, Is it a clunk when you actually engage or disengage the 4wd system., or is it a clunk after 4wd has already been engaged -- when you accelerate while already in 4wd......?

    Maybe I'm lacking grease somewhere?

might want to check to see if the pinion flange at the front diff has any slop / play in it -- from my experience it should be mostly tight.... if it has play you may be feeling it in the driveline when taking off..... u joints too - check them for play at each joint in the front.... that's where I'd start.

You can try greasing your rear slip yoke. Thats the rear most part of your driveshaft that telescopes into the main shaft. That spot is packed with grease which normally keeps that shaft from clunking when starting out. It can take a LOT of grease to fill it up. You basically pump it in until you see it start to come out around the slip joint.

If that doesn't do it, check your front driveshaft U joints for any slop.
