Hi everyone! On a 2024 the front two bolts of the skid plate are underneath a piece of trim. It appears that piece might rotate downward to access those bolts. How do I activate the mechanism to accomplish that?
    Thanks!

It's the active front spoiler. There's a section in the owners manual for it, but right after you turn the truck on, you hold the wiper arm on mist for a few seconds and it lowers the spoiler. It auto raises after turning the vehicle back on and shifting out of park.

Thanks for the reply. However my vehicle does not have the active spoiler option. This is a piece under the front grill attached to a drum like device. At each end it snaps into the grill above. I'll take a pic tomorrow in the daytime and post it. Perhaps that will help illustrate the issue. Thanks again for trying to help!

Are you sure you don't have it? It does cover the front two skid plate bolts. If you crawl under and look up in the middle behind the grill, it should attach to a plastic motor with a QR code stamped on it. There are also hinges above the spoiler piece on the far left and right sides. The whole thing folds down.

Turn the ignition on, (don't need to start the engine) then turn the ignition off and then pull up on the wiper handle for 2 seconds and it will lower it. Afterwards, turn the ignition back on and shift the truck into reverse and it will raise it. Again, you do not have to start the engine to accomplish this.

We'll I'll be darned....I do have an active spoiler! It's not mentioned anywhere in the short version of the owners manual. Had to download the full version. Thanks guys for the help!
Not to hijack my own thread but has anyone had trouble with the paint on the truck? I put 10K on my truck to Arizona and back and when I came home (oregon) the paint from the front tire to the rear tailgate entry step was chipped up. Badley! $7000+ worth of damage. Luckily insurance covered the cost. Toyota would not warranty it. Said it was caused by an outside influence...they were right...I drove it down the highway...apparently these trucks are not meant to be driven. This vehicle has never been off-roaded. I'm almost 70 and have owned Dodge, GMC, Ford and several Toyotas...never seen the likes of this....

Not really. I do have a minor chip on a piece under the front driver's side headlight but nothing like you are describing. How hard did you fight Toyota because the way you describe it it is not your fault and a factory defect that Toyota should fix. I'll take a pic and upload it but I would love to see the damage you are describing.

These are just a couple of a dozen or so shots. Both sides of the truck were like this...I went thru three levels of Toyota reps...headed to arbitration on June 12th.

Oh no. Stay on it and fight. Doesn't look like "road damage" to me. Good luck and keep me posted!
