I was getting tired of using my phone or a head lamp to see anything inside my console, so I added these simple LED lights to the sunglass holder. It works great and I am still able to keep shades in there. Got the LEDs on Amazon and picked up an AOB switch. The LEDs are .4 amps each so it was simple to tap the existing wires on the dummy switch. Under $50

Have you noticed any change to your key fob reception to the truck? I read recently that the meso customs units makes the key fob range decrease dramatically, possibly due to unshielded LEDs? Just curious if these lights had any effect on your range?

    Nothing.
Totally unrelated to this was a similar issue I had with my garage door openers. I installed 100w equivalent LED bulbs in them and found that I could open (or close) the door via HomeLink sometimes, and it would not work at all other times. The wired controller worked flawlessly. After hours of frustration, I realized that if the lights timed out and turned off, the remote worked but when the lights were on, it did not. Went back to CFLs and no more issues. LED interference is no joke.

Not near enough light in the cab. Toyota could have built in better lighting. .... old eyes, I guess.

Maybe it's a trim thing. My 61 year old eyes are fine in my 22, but I have the ambient lighting which is more than sufficient to find the bottle opener

I have not noticed it, but I have the lights hooked to ignition power so they only work if the key is already on.

I looked hard at putting them in that spot on the overhead console, but it seemed like a real challenge getting it to come apart. The glasses holder was easy (and easily replaced if I messed it up).

Good idea ...forgot there was even a 'sunglass dropdown holder' as I never used it even on previous rides.

Nice install. Fyi, there’s no way these tiny LEDs pull .4A ea. Their spec sheet is wrong. 40mA is .04A ea

Of topic but 'll comment. Last month i installed two garage doors and also had concerns about it, buy al cheapo LED "Great Value" from Walmart work great, no interference and i open both doors from 40-50 yards away no mater of they on or off.
