I’m new here and just “introduced” myself on the new member thread. I have a 2014 crew max, I’ve been planning the overall build since before I owned a tundra. I was a Toyota mechanic for 8 years but Never had the need for a full-size truck till now. My wife recently went back to work, so now I have the three kids on my days off. The Tacoma was nice but cramped for three kids in the back. So a year ago I convinced my wife a Tundra was needed.
I have already done quite a bit, but I’m not too tech savvy so I’m updating as I figure out how this forum works from my phone.

First I had to get rid of the grille. I had originally bought the pro grille and what I thought was a color matched wrap. I wrapped the grill surround and hood bulge, put it back on the truck, and showed the wife. I thought it looked good but my colorblindness got the best of me. Everyone said the wrap was blue/purple/silver and didn’t match at all. So I took off the wrap and left the chrome on the pro grille for now.

Got tired of the silver emblems. Had a bunch of plasti-dip just lying around the house. I think it came out pretty good. About 6 coats on each emblem.

-Plasti- dipped the front and rear bumpers.
    - installed 3/2 lift
    - just got tires mounted 35x12.50r18
    - rims are 18x9 with +18 offset that I’ve had in my garage for a few years now.
    - painted the front tow hooks “Toyota trd red” as per local dealer.

Love the Silver color. How hard was it to mask off the emblems?

Them emblems were pretty easy. Left about an inch around the emblem of just body and taped around that. Plus the paper to help with overspray. I found it helpful to dip on the body, so when you peal the tape off the excess come with it.

Which 3/2 lift did you go with? It’s looks higher. Did you need UCAs? No issues with rubbing with 35” tires? Great looking set up, I’m thinking that height would be perfect for my truck.

I went with a cheaper lift right now. I have the ready lift 3/2. No UCAs needed at this time and no tire rub. I love the look but I hate the feel of the block in the rear. I am currently checking out other options (shackles or leaf packs). And once the front shocks go out I’ll be replacing with a coil over set up.

Nice truck man! I just got a silver sky myself and am considering the Dick Cepek Trail Country EXP's in a 295 70 18. Not a whole lot of reviews on them, can you please share you impressions when you have a moment? Thanks!
