Side view mirror trim popped off

Anyone else had the lower trim piece pop off? Was driving at hwy speeds and I heard a POP. I got to my destination and walked over to the passenger side and noticed the trim panel where the side camera is at was dangling from the mirror. I tried popping it back on but one of the tabs is cracked at the bottom and is now leaning back and wont hold. Used some clear silicone and black tape to hold it in place for now

Happen to a tundra seen at a home depot guy said same thing only he had a dent that looked Iike a straight line about a inch long

 

Toyota will replace the entire mirror assembly now under warranty, took about a month for the assembly to come in for mine, having it replaced next Friday, which will take 2.5-3 hours he estimates.

 

I know this is an old, but I seem to have had the same issue on my 23 Tundra. How did it go getting this replaced under warranty?
