Just wanted to share what I went thru after replacing my side mirror due to a scratch. All my sensors were good and working. I went on ebay and found replacement mirrors that matched my truck and after installing malfunction codes came on, I turned BSM and RCTA off to get light off. Found another replacement mirror and tried again and same results. Both aftermarket mirrors the vendors told me it’s matched to my truck and no results. I attached a code reader and no codes came up. I was stumped !! Last resort I called dealer and they told me my sensors bad and to bring truck in. Hahaha. Be mindful everything was good I only had a scratched mirror. I ended up taking a chance and spending the money for a OEM Toyota mirror that I found. Luckily never had to buy the whole assembly. Plugged it in turned on sensors and BINGO all good back to normal. Don’t waste time with the aftermarket replacement mirrors. The other types spotters and tow mirrors I don’t know about if they have the BSM and RCTA features. Hope this helps you truckers out there.
